Computer Engineering Program

Vision

The vision of the Computer Engineering Program is to prepare graduates to become pioneers in the field of Artificial Intelligence Engineering, capable of meeting community needs and labor market demands both locally and internationally. The program is designed according to the national standards. It promotes excellence in the creation, dissemination, and application of knowledge in artificial intelligence across various engineering fields, contributing to economic growth and positioning the Arab Republic of Egypt as a hub for the Arab and international AI community.

Mission

The mission of the Computer Engineering Program stems from the mission of Faculty of Engineering at Tanta University. The program aspires to graduate AI engineers who have strong academic and professional competitiveness, along with profound knowledge of modern technologies in their specialization and related fields. Graduates should be fully aware of societal and environmental requirements, uphold professional engineering ethics, and be capable of contributing effectively to the advancement of scientific research and the development of practical and scientific solutions to the challenges faced by governmental bodies, factories, institutions, and different organizations in this field.

Program Objectives

  1. To provide students with the necessary knowledge to understand mathematical and scientific concepts and theories.
  2. To help students understand the components of computers and computerized devices.
  3. To prepare students for a technological era driven by intelligent systems that involve diverse concepts and distinctive principles of design and operation.
  4. To provide students with the essential knowledge needed to engage with computer programming, software systems, and the various learning methods required for artificial intelligence.
  5. To study artificial intelligence systems with the understanding that they are not entirely isolated from other established disciplines.
  6. To provide AI students with the mindset of a "thinker" and the practical experience of a “practitioner”.
  7. To help student acquire skills in various fields such as computer networks, web page design, computer control systems, robotics, cloud computing, information and device security.
  8. To foster objective discussions on the social and ethical impact of artificial intelligence, along with predicting the future of AI.
  9. To develop students’ communication and presentation skills.
  10. To provide students with comprehensive interdisciplinary training in AI science and engineering.
  11. To encourage the development of innovative systems and solutions through the integration of hardware, software, and artificial intelligence technologies.
